Identify, protect, and conserve the heritage features on site.
Use interpretation to allow people to understand, connect and value both the tangible and intangible heritage values associated with the place. Any new work or additions should be sympathetic to the existing heritage features.
Celebrate the site's unique character and history
Create a distinct and memorable space by connecting people and culture to the place, and expressing the site's unique character in the design.
Achieve this by:
- identifying and conserving heritage features, buildings or values
- identifying local heritage materials or features and integrating them into the design
- incorporating art and interpretive signage to share local history stories
- considering the use of innovative technological features, such as QR (Quick Response) codes, to tell the stories of the place and its people.
