Patterns of living was developed as part of 5000+; a project about city redesign, and city renewal for inner Adelaide. In South Australia, 5000+ represents a once in a generational chance to plan and design for the future and to effect real and lasting change.
This document showcases design solutions for laneway and infill housing in Adelaide as well as open space infrastructure. Three propositions were commissioned to focus on imagining a new urban form for Adelaide’s Inner-Rim. The Laneway Dwellings and How can we live well on arterials? projects rethink the purpose and amenity of our laneways and arterials. At the broader scope of the precinct and its wider connections, Best address in the West? investigates the opportunities of increased density including mixed-use infill as well as green and open space infrastructure through the Inner-Rim suburbs west of the Park Lands.
